About the Project

Creating a celebratory event for gucci’s announcement of their debut perfume called “bloom”. Including a guest entrance experience, open garden courtyard, and guest pavilion featuring curated stylized displays and live entertainment. The pro-
cess included receiving a client brief that outlined the desire to create a floral rich enchanted urban garden, i worked closely with the production team, the floral decorators, and the tent company to present different options for ambiance lighting. The
idea was to integrate the lighting into the florals to create a backdrop for the evening. I approached this show as a puzzle piecing together architectural lighting elements that would act as a backdrop for the evening, but would also produce enough
illumination to carry the appropriate balance for a outdoor nighttime engagement. It was important to match the color of the lighting to the branding guidelines. Studies where conducted to ensure the appropriate lighting gels where matched with the
lamp type and redshift due to the predetermined intensity. Options where provided to handle the hanging decorative lighting inside the pavilion tent, however, we settled on individually suspended clear “a” lamps with nickle plated sockets due to an
existing inventory, the wholeness of the look, and the ability to dim the fixtures to the proper color temperature while providing the appropriate output. In the courtyard, i illuminated the surrounding foliage, the gazebo and the exterior of the museum,
structuring the area with a gentle light. I discovered it was important to light the building and the surrounding areas because it also defined the space giving people a reference point to their surroundings.
