About the Project
Initially contacted to support the detroit team, this project advanced into a collaboration creating a unique format that would evolve over a 3 year sponsorship to highlight cadillacs rich history of iconic design and technology standards, placing an
emphasis its place in history as a symbol of luxury and progress. We where tasked with featuring the brands historic craftsmanship by displaying a classic car alongside the brands next generation of forward thinking automobiles. A white floor cladding
covering a decking structure that could sustain the weight of a cadillac became the first building block in defining the space. A back wall and other cladding would be implemented to display copy, but also to function a backdrop and form a back of
house space to hide technical. I discovered early on in my research, that having a glowing or illuminated object adjacent to the hi gloss finish of the car would not only provide illumination, but underscore the contours of the vehicle with a visual highlight.
This idea materialized into different overhead approaches to lighting that would act a unique fixture all in itself.
